Wagler's Pit Viper


Wagler's Pit Viper
Tropidolaemus wagleri.

A snake that should have to be conserve. This juvenile doesn't attack human if it's not disturbed. Locals kill this snake recently at Tikolod village. It can be found recently around 1 feet to 6 feet high from the ground. It hanging on rubber tree according to the village.

Nightwalk activity at Kinabalu park.
Liwagu restaurant to uphill Timpohon.

Me and Josely do a nightwalk.
we found and taught the snake was a calamaria sp.But were we wrong when we try to look very close.Before we try to get rid the snake from the wet drain. It suprise us with a warning display.

A small but deadly species of elapid.
In Malay name of ular tali kasut or " shoelace snake" and it is regarded as dangerous.
In Dusun Timbalik - balik refers to the behaviour of the snake. When threatned or disturb,it will flatten the body and raise the tail to show the bright red underside. Human fatalities remain known.

This beautiful creature were gripping on tree.

Today on 30 Jun 2009 Tuesday, me and Sophiana,one of my collegue were doing a short walk at Kinabalu Park on Bundu Tuhan View Trail.
We both spot on one tree that has a beautiful fungi. In suddenly without any awareness before touching the tree. Something crawling upsideward. Then we both suprise it is the Spiny headed shrub lizard. WHoaaaaa!!!!
It looks a little bit curious when we try to take photos on it. Hope got a another chance to search another wildlife in an open place such as Kinabalu Park.

Short Python At Poring Hot Spring

I'ts me that who handled the short python. This constricter snake even it's short but still has a powerfull muscle.
It's not that venomous but also have to becarefull
cause it likes to strike.

A beautiful reptiles can be seen at Kinabalu Park.

This is one of my favourite snake. The colour are in pure green.The triangular shape head make us to warn that this creature a venomous as the family of Viperidae.
This snake might makes people confuse between the vine snake ( Ahaetulla prasina).The difference is the head,triangular shape and narrow shape.
This snake have to be handled to professional.

A venomous snake that should be handled by professional.
Beware when you're entering Kinabalu park trails.
It's really hard to spot it at night and daylight.
Watch where you step of.
